🔥 As a result of the Grenfell Tower Inquiry, new fire safety regulations came into force on 23rd January 2023.
The regulations, being brought in under article 24 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, cover various aspects of fire safety, including; building plans, external wall systems, lifts, fire-fighting equipment, information boxes, wayfinding signage and fire safety equipment & information.
In terms of fire doors, under the new regulations, the Responsible Person for residential buildings with storeys over 11 metres in height will be required to undertake:
• Annual checks of flat entrance doors
• Quarterly checks of all fire doors in the common parts.
